1. Stop make personification between Ikal and Andrea. They might be came from the same mind but the character and the flow of story could be different. I successfully avoided publisher's jargon before read it!
2. Being a dreamer doesn't mean a fiction nor an illusion.
3. For you who expect too much from this book, I think you should let the book tell itself. Just enjoy it, no matter what people say.
4. If you just want the story literally, forget it. You will disappointed. Try to 'read' beyond the story. Such as : local wisdom and conservative values or the loves of history and nation's pride. You will find more than in the book if you can read it in different view.

Overall : I love it!

Maryamah Karpov is the fourth and final book of Laskar Pelangi tetralogy, written by Andrea Hirata. This novel is a continuation of the previous Edensor tells the story of Ikal travel Sourbone undergoing his education in France. Ikal was the son of a tin miner in Belitong, even though he was not the son of a wealthy family, but with the spirit and the dream he managed to get a scholarship to continue his master to Sourbone french. DON'T JUDGE A BOOK BY IT'S COVER sangat berlaku buat buku ini. before I read it, I knew that maryamah is not the main character in this book. just like in any other book of Andea Hirata, if you find something that bored you just keep reading. and I did.and I found out I really-really enjoy reading this book. so awesome! ridiculous, hilarious but there's always something that make me go 'hhhmmm'.... the story of melayu people and their characteristic tickles my tummy..the hyperbolic n metaphoric

For the first time i think this book will explain details about the storyline literally. But in my opinition, that isn't like my thought. I'm a bit disappointed by the last part of the story. It just like 'hang..'. But, i can feel the author vibes when he explain the condition of himself in each story. I try to read beyond the story and find a lot of local wisdom and conservative values or the lovers of history and nation's pride. I find more than in the book just because i read it in different

A beautiful yet a sad love story for Ikal n Aling (wopss, sorry for the spoiler ehuheuheu)

Reading Maryamah Karpov was a roller coaster ride for me. I was laughing and crying at the same time. As the final book in Laskar Pelangi tetralogy, Maryamah Karpov gives me a sense of closure on the life of Ikal and his friends, family members and loved ones. The only thing that I detest is the cliffhanger ending where we are left wondering what will happen to Ikal and Aling. However, I couldn't ask for a better story that tugs at my heartstrings in every single chapter. Or should I say mozaik?
