Georgia Nicholson rides again! These books never fail to make me laugh and possibly roll my eyes. The only bad thing about Louise Rennison's addictive writing is that I go around speaking like a completely naff person on the edge of a nervy b. See? There I go again. I need to check my maturocity.I'm not proud, but I totally got hooked on the Angus, Thongs, and Full Frontal Snogging books when I was in library school! They're kind of like the Bridget Jones's Diary books, but for teens. And you can read them in one sitting! This latest installment is as fluffy as the rest and I shudder to think what a real-life Georgia Nicholson would be like (she's awful!), but I still get a kick out of the humor and the glossary provided for Georgia's "American chums."
This one was so good, one of my favorites of the series! Georgia (and I can't believe I'm saying this) actually had to make some tough-ish decisions. I suppose I'm leaning toward Masimo, but I can't forget about Dave the Laugh. I was never than attached to Robbie. Dave the Laugh is probably best for Georgia though. I'll have to go to the library soon to get the 9th and 10th book!
This series never fails to make me laugh out loud. Georgia Nicolson is so confused, so dramatic, and so boy-crazy, but you see hints of a good heart underneath. While enjoying her antics I find myself rooting for the rational part of her brain to win. I don't know how to recommend these titles to teen girls. Do they take the books seriously or laugh at themselves? Need a little help from all you YA Specialists. How do you sell this series?
Georgia is shallow and immature and truly needs to grow up, but these books are still very funny. Sadly, there's a girl in my year who steals all of Georgia's phrases and words, and everyone thinks she's wonderfully original. I was slightly annoyed at Georgia moaning about how crap History is, and also how unromatic Germans and the German language is. The most gentlemanly man I've ever met is from Germany, so she clearly is quite biased. Anyway, a light read and only took me a few hours to get
DAVE THE LAUGH, I LOVE YOOOOOOOOOOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!Dave is a really easy character to like. Georgia is kinda stupid with all her crushes -.- but you know, she's a teenage girl and obviously very horny! I love all the ideas from Louise Rennison, she is a LEGEND!!!!!! WOOOOO

We left the previous book with Georgia running off to catch an imaginary train, just to escape the wild predicament that is Sex God and the Luuurve God at the same place at the same time!
