Mine notches. Most intriguing book I have read imagery long time. Stories of the old South have been my quest. ExcellentExcellently written.Good theme, yet too predictable Good storyline. I loved the genre and theme. I loved the New Orleans setting of the novel and how the author painted a good picture of its culture. However, for this to be a novel that the author obsessed over there were many flaws in that kind of ruined it for me. There were mistakes in referencing characters and their relationships. I spent much time going back and forth to make sure I did not read something incorrectly. The dialogue at times seemed too forced,
Slavery & Family TiesI. couldn't put this book down Sometimes pAst i and furture makes strange bedfellows. I'm the end family prevailed .
InterestingI chose this because I like to check new authors out. This was a good novel full of interesting well developed characters.
Im a just guy from New Orleans who loves LSU Football, gumbo, and twelve hours alone to write. I have two published novels: Nine Notches (2018) & Burgundy Doubloons (2018.) My next release is called Infallible Husband: The Wisdom Of Uncle Glen (Non-Fiction) which is set for mid-summer 2019.For four years I sat on my novels and obsessed over every little detail. Finally, it was my mom whoMasterpiece!!! I must say that I enjoyed the intensity of this book form page one. The passion and emotion passed through my body as if I were watching each word written in person. The intelligence of the author was visibly witnessed through each chapter. Carefully aligning each word and scene in an organized manner. The addiction was like no other craving every word. I literally went from chapter 5 to 51 on a Sunday afternoon. The author TJ Spencer Jacques definitely did his due diligence as an
Truth I liked that TJ did not try to cover up for a white person or a black person. My family is from or lives in Louisiana. I am almost white skinned and have been not liked by whites or blacks. I have always wondered how my family have such fair skin. TJs story is so real.
