I am a big fan of this authors writing, this is the first book I ever read by her and decided to re visit it. This was a book about two old friends Beth and Susan, both of them have had very different lives. Beth is a successful lawyer however she's very closed off due to events in her past that come out during the story. Susan is a woman who spent all of her life caring for others. The two women re connect when Beth is called to represent her and realises who she is. It turns out that despiteThe premise behind this book was good and I think it could have been brilliant but Im sure it could have been done in such a way to make it less clunky and long winded. Im didnt see the need for so much background information and unnecessary descriptions/conversations (e.g. Susans weight loss, why mention that? It wasnt mentioned again and had no bearing on the story). I also found the ending annoying, a huge book and then in the last 30 pages it was all tied up in a neat bow and they lived
Easy readReally good book!! Well worth the read. Easy and a great story! Well told as well. Can't wait to read another one by Lesley Pearse

excellent with great twists and turns
Many times while reading this book I wanted to stop. The plot went backwards and forwards and for a long time I didn't understand the significance of the past on the present. Some of the terminology was very annoyed. What is "a real woman", for example?Susan walks into a doctor's surgery and shoots the receptionist and the doctor. The duty solicitor, Beth, was Susan's friend in their youth. Unable to believe that Susan is a cold blooded murderer Beth investigates her past. But the more she finds
At first I didnt really like this book and the way it was written, I wasnt understanding it very well. But a bit less then half way through I really felt love for some of the main characters. There where some things that I definitely didnt expect in the plot but overall I liked the way that the book ended.
