Book no longer in print. Please see "Dark Secrets" by A.M. Hudson for this book and The Knight of the Rose, now combined.

"Powerfully integrated vampire series."

An epic romantic fantasy. The entire series is a journey to watch one girl grow and find that love is something you fight for, not a gift you can take for granted, combined with a sexy vampire and a deeper, darker mystery lurking underneath it all.

Vampires do not care about the myths people believe. They feed on humans, walk in the daylight, and no, they certainly do not sparkle. The only problem is, they don't usually fall in love with their food, either. But David Knight is about to discover that love knows nothing of morals or laws.

When Ara-Rose learns the truth about her boyfriend, David, she will be forced into a world of death and secrecy. Living each day on a path lit by predictability, Ara had never imagined such nightmares could exist. Now, her fate is measured by a choice between eternal love and a normal life, a decision she only has until the end of the summer to make.

Crit Out Of Books Tears of the Broken (Dark Secrets #1.1)
I really loved this book for a couple of reasons. First it had some really beautiful writing. In fact, I even highlighted one passage and sent it to a friend exclaiming how that is what the perfect guy should say. And second, it actually made me cry! You start off with a brief introduction to Ara in a short prologue. As soon as I read the prologue, I was excited. Amara-Rose was born lifeless, and brought to life when her father took her in his arms. The imagery was sad, beautiful, and happy all

I've been reading some pretty depressing books recently so I decided to read something a little more light hearted snd that's exactly what I got with Tears of the Broken. Ok so, it definitely reminded me of Twilight, the same concept but with very different prsonalities, but so what? I wanted something gushy and soppy and I wasn't disapointed. I thought this book touched death and tragedy very well and even found myself choked up at one point through the book. In some respects this book is just

A very exciting beginning to what becomes an excellent series I couldn't put down. You begin to get to know the characters and develop relationships with each of them. Ends with you dying to get to the second book which does NOT disappoint!! 5 stars for Hudson! This series completely had me. Cannot WAIT for her 4th book!

Ok, so I don't write reviews, because in my opinion if you truly want to read a book... you will, regardless of what someone else's review said. With that being said, if you like Twilight, read it. Tears of the Broken reads a lot like Twilight and New Moon put together minus Jacob, the sparkling skin and the leaving parts. But with the threatening of leaving and all that vampy fun stuff. Ok I take that back, I do write reviews...but very small reviews. I don't have a way with words like others

Let me warn you right from the top that this is going to be a pretty gushy review. But I won't apologize for that! Tears of the Broken is my type of book! Yes, I'm a sucker for romance and this book is full of it! Yes, I love paranormal and this book has that as well. I admit to having the biggest, cheesiest grin on my face for a lot of the time as I was reading this. It was just like my favourite chocolate. You know how you just want to savour it so that it lasts longer, but you just cant...

Overall, I thought the book was good, although a bit slow in getting into the main plot of the story. Ara started off as a sweet character, yet depressed...but near the end her character seemed obsessed with David biting her, and being able to taste his blood, but not wanting to become a vampire herself. Hopefully, the next book will clarify her awkward behavior, and reveal Mike's role in the story.

This is the original first book of the Dark Secrets series before some editing choices and a slightly less sweet David. I gave it five stars because I love this series and this was fun to read knowing how it actually plays out versus the original version. I did like the David of this version, but it makes him almost exactly like Jason which is definitely different to see. I can see how people who read this one are solely on his "team". He's a different guy here to a degree. Granted, in the first
