This is the third and final book in the Delilah’s Diary series. As one would expect, it has a happy conclusion; this book focused on the end of Delilah’s struggle to accept love openly, and the beginning of Delilah and Luca’s life together.

The most powerful scene was when she realized, after taking some time away to think clearly, that she really did love Luca, and could comfortably tell him. The lovemaking that ensued was very deep and profound, unlike the physical love that had been occurring previously.

Some of the writing in this novel was so eloquent. Jasinda Wilder made Delilah’s feelings towards Luca so clear to the reader that it made me think, “If only everyone could express themselves to their significant other like that, relationships would flow so much better.”

Here are some examples:

“No, no, baby no. Don’t you know women cry from happiness sometimes?”….”You treat me right. You say things that make me feel..cared for.”

“So why does this make you cry? I confess I am puzzled.”

“Because no one has ever treated me the way you do. No one has ever said the things to me that you do.”…”It’s intense. It’s kind of scary. It’s a complete change. When you’ve spent your entire life feeling different, feeling like you’re not enough, not good enough, not skinny enough, not pretty enough, it can be really difficult to accept that someone thinks differently, even if it’s a good thing.”

“Ah, now this I understand.”…”You do not always see your own worth, I think. You are not so skinny as I think that American ideal of perfection is believed to be.”...”No, please. Only listen. I like you as you are. I say ‘like’ because I think the other word makes you worried, but it is true enough. I would not like you so much if you were skinny, all sticks and skin. You have curves, you have a body to touch and hold. And also please remember, I am not American. I am Italian, and we have different ideals of beauty. And you, amore, are my ideal of beauty.”

I think I know why people say they’re ‘falling in love.’

I’ve always hated that phrase. I never really understood it. Love was a choice. Something you worked at. I mean, yeah, I understood that you didn’t always choose who you fell in love with, that it happened outside of your control. But, the verb “to fall”. Why that one? Why falling? It implies a complete loss of control, a total helplessness to stop your tumbling over the edge. When you fall, you transition from solid ground, from balance, into open space, off balance.

When I think “to fall” I think of standing on the edge of a skyscraper. There are no guard rails or Plexiglas walls, just dizzy height, people like ants and cars like toys, the hard ground hundreds of feet below, and you’re wavering on the edge, arms flailing, but you can’t regain your balance. You’re falling. Air rushes past your face in a deafening roar, and you have time to realize, “this is it, I’m going to die.”

It’s like that with Luca. It’s inevitable. I can feel it happening, and I can’t stop it. Unlike falling off a building, however, I’m not entirely sure I want to. The loss of control is scary. The vulnerability is frightening.

I wish you could choose to fall in love. Or rather, not fall at all, but walk into love. Be in love without falling.

But then, if we didn’t fall, implying all the trust and loss of control and complete vulnerability, would it be as sweet? Would it be as satisfying and life-changing? If you could choose it, and control it, would it be as potent and soul-searing?

I’ll let one cliché slide: he completed me. Clichés are so often repeated because of their inherent truth. In this, the truth is undeniable. The person who truly, madly, deeply love you does in fact complete you.

Well done Jasinda Wilder! I look forward to reading more of your work.

Article Regarding Books Sexy Surrender (Delilah's Diary #3)
Incredible ending! Please read all three novellas back to back. The story will not be complete if you do not.

Oh, how I love these kind of endings. The ones that leave you wanting to be there, to be one of them and finally having your happy ever after. Mrs. Wilder, as always, great books! I love in how something so short can put so much emotion. These kind of books have me addicted and even more with these kind of plots. Self-discovery and at ending, concluding like you expected.PS. I totally loved all the Italian lines and sceneries.

3.5 stars A nice conclusion to a fairly decent series. The beginning of the book was just more of what annoyed me about the last - lots of sex and not much else. However, when Delilah was finally able to get beyond her fears and admit her feelings for Luca the book finally became what I knew this series could be - a beautiful story of a woman discovering herself after years of being stifled . The best parts of this series were the time Delilah spent with Luca's big fat Italian family. Along

Jasinda does it again! The diaries were just fun to read!!

All done! Please ma'am can I have some more? I really liked this series, I was just hoping Luca's ex would show up and cause a bit of drama. Or Harry or that other guy she met the first night or she called her gays (as they told her they was). I think it should have more of them. They should have came to the wedding! IDK something/ Don;t get me wrong it was a great story, I loved it and I do want more.

Adored this short series. Delilah's ability to move forward even as the fear of what could happen took hold of her was a great theme. Luca...what can be said other than ladies it is time to book your trips to Rome and hope that some you get mugged and find your own Italian knight in shining armor to rescue you.
