At last, Mia is a junior. An upperclassperson. Free of her responsibilities as student body president. So why is it that everything is going so terribly wrong? What is she doing in Intro to Creative Writing? When she has made it through Algebra and Geometry, why must she be faced with Precalculus? And for the love of all that is Genovian, why has Lilly nominated her for school prez again? All this is nothing compared to the news Michael springs on her, however. On top of all the mathematical strife, her beloved boyfriend is leaving for Japan for a year. Precalc has nothing on preparing for the worst separation ever

Turns out there is one way she might convince Michael to stay. But will she? Or won't she? No matter what, Mia seems headed for disaster.

DNF/on hold @ 60%2.5 starsI finally understand why I was so obsessed with Mia as a 12-year-old.We were on the same maturity level.I'm done with this series.

This is the worst book that I have read in this series.Mia is so lame. What is she thinking about going to that musical with J.P will save her from all the problems???Really???... That will pop out more disasters on her way.So disappointed; there is no development I see from the main character .

i've been betrayed by meg cabot.princess diaries 8 is so bad that i might have to give up my faith in the entire series.to begin with, michael and mia broke up. which sucks, but was basically inevitable. what makes it betrayal is the WAY that they were broken up. the first major problem is that for the past few books, cabot has sort of drifted from the characterizations that made the first three installments such a guilty pleasure. now it's more of a pop-culture-driven, facile extrapolation of

Hi I hated every second of this book. Michael is a piece of crap boyfriend, Lily is a terrible friend, Mia cant stop making racist comments about geisha girls in Japan stealing her boyfriend, like no Mia, no one wants your awful boyfriend. Michael yet again basically tells Mia that shes being awful for not putting out for him, literally tells her its easier to be a continent away from her than be with her because hes sick of the cold showers and that its ridiculous for her to expect him to wait

am an adult but very fond of the Princess Diaries books. This is not my favorite book, simply because it is not as funny as the previous ones. But it is written about issues that interest me. After all, I've been a teenager myself. I thought it was wise of Meg Cabot to raise questions about intimacy issues betweet Mia and Michael. Every girl dating an older boy at some point has to face the same problem: should she DO IT with her more mature boy-friend even if she is not ready, or break up with

I think this is the first time I have ever been disappointed in Meg Cabot. I mean, I want to love this book because this is definitely one of my favorite series, but I just can't.Mia just drove me insane the entire time. I want to feel bad for her, but, in all honesty, most, if not all, of her problems could have been avoided if she would just stop overreacting to EVERY LITTLE THING. I just, I just can't deal with Mia right now. My face was like this for almost the entire time I spent reading

I have loved the Princess Diaries series. This one, though, was more of a bridge to the next book than a story on its own. Mia was whiny and needy in this book, more than usual. If I had not been reading the series out of order, I probably would have given up on it when I got to this one. The book after this one went back to being a good one, though.
