This has been on my Kindle for AGES. Finally got around to it. I think that this was an early book by this author. Because while it was good, it wasn't the quality/depth that I've come to expect from her books. Still I enjoyed it. It was a quick read. For a 'Christian' book, it took an anwfully long time for the main character, Macy, to actually reflect any Christian qualities. She was such an annoying and self-centered person that I was tempted many times to forego completing my reading of the book at all. The last chapter was the best part of the whole thing. However, it did not make up for the disappointments that lead up to that point.
This book is surprisingly dated for being less than 10 years old. The main character works for a software company that is trying to make it so anyone can make a web page. A large part of her job is helping companies with internet sales as though online sales are some sort of novelty. In fact, Im pretty sure the book never uses the word internet or online. Web is always capitalized. With a few references to canceled TV shows and other mildly out-dated pop culture, the book definitely has a
Wayyyyyy too preachy. This wasnt marketed as Christian Lit so I wasnt expecting it to be so Jesus-y. And the protagonist is too wishy-washy and unable to make her own decisions.
Such a cute and quick read! Love Ms. Hauck's books!!
Loved this book. All the emotion and friendships were heart warming
Good story, one I could really relate to.
