Second book in the Troublesome Creek series. This one is not set in Troublesome Creek, but in Lexington, KY.

At seventeen, Copper is newly married to Dr. Simon Corbett and living so very far away from her beloved mountain home. She’s a fish out of water, but thankful her stepmother had tried to train her as a lady. But her barefoot, possum cooking ways were an embarrassment to her new sister-in-law, Alice. Maintaining her true self while trying to be the acceptable wife of a respected doctor in this big city was a trial and an adventure. As upbeat as Copper is, she makes the best of it by helping people often, and her husband in the office, and dodging stinging barbs from Alice. Eventually she happens upon sad but promising ways to help Alice learn to love her.

In this book we fall in love with many endearing characters Copper picks up along the way. We find out why the next set is called the Copper Brown series.

Clean, sweet with faith elements that fit easily into the pages as a number of characters take their faith seriously, especially Copper, who is an inspiration to many.

Criticism About Books Willow Springs (Troublesome Creek #2)
Troublesome Creek #2, this was a romantic story about a young girl who married a doctor and moved from the hills of Kentucky to Lexington where her husband's sister makes her learn city ways. She is very independent and likes to work and help others. Her husband teaches her midwifery skills and she gradually adjusts.

The Story of Cooper Brown continues in this well written tale. We follow her life as she makes the difficult adjustment not just to married life, but to town life and town ideas so very different from her own homespun wisdom, ie the donning of shoes. Yet another radical change is that of going from working from before the sun rises through the day to a life of relative ease with a housekeeper who takes it as a personal offense if she tries to help with much at all. She is altogether just too

This is a light, fast read and is thoroughly enjoyable. Unfortunately, I picked it up not realizing there are three in the series. Never mind. I'm going back to book 1, Troublesome Creek and will finish with the third. As I read Willow Springs, I wanted to go out and find Troublesome Creek, but I couldn't put it down long enough to go find it.

Great sequel to Troublesome Creek!

Good book. A little slow sometimes, but I enjoy reading just about anything. I enjoy reading about customs of other cultures. While born and raised in Tn. I never knew such hard ships.

I did not enjoy this one as much as I did the first of this series. However, it was still an ejoyable read with wonderful characters and poignant story lines.
