Chronicle As Books Is Elvis Alive? Book and Audio Cassette
Ever since I can remember, my family have been Elvis Presley admirers. No matter where we've lived, my father's 40" by 40" personally signed portrait of Elvis dipping a vintage Shure microphone in split stance has always graced a wall in the main living room, the albums sit proudly on display, as well as the collection of C-grade movies Presley reluctantly made throughout his career, which we've recently obtained on Blu-Ray (I know...). That said, I read this book some years ago, because for a very long period during my teenage years, I caught the Presley bug that lingered my household. I bought the mp3s, the posters, the memorabilia, went to Memphis for the full Graceland experience and of course, read every book I could get my hands on, including this one which I found storaged with a bunch of Agatha Christies and Charles Dickenses in the attic. Now let me make one thing very clear: I in no way buy into all of the "Elvis is Alive" conspiracies out there, and going into the reading of this book, had no intention of being convinced otherwise. I read it purely for kicks and a kick is what I got. Giorgio has certainly done her research and it is evident in how detailed her theories are. She writes with a sort of insistence that almost makes you want to believe her, like it would be easier to accept all the brouhaha that die-hards and conspiracy fiends alike have come up with because they are too stubborn to believe that, like every living thing, death is inevitable and it does not discriminate. For what it's worth - a source of entertainment, that is - I found Giorgio's book amusing and thought-provoking. It's not out of this world impossible to believe that she may be onto something with the case she presents, and perhaps that's what made reading this book so fun. I know that this book frequents garage sales and library clearances, so if you're lucky enough to get your hands on a copy and find Elvis Presley at all interesting, I'd recommend checking it out.List Books In Pursuance Of Is Elvis Alive? After reading this book, I am still unsure if Elvis is alive. However, I am 100% sure that somebody is hiding something about his death and whereabouts.Interesting because hidden in it is a brief history of the idea that Elvis did not die when he was supposed to, written at a point when all this was fresh and new, like all this type of conspiracy it is perhaps not completely convincing, but not too far out to be completely dismissed.
Love the fact that no accusations have been made only questions raised. You the reader, have to draw your own conclusions. All I am going to say is, that celebrities are people also and they deserve privacy in their day to day lives. It is the crazy/frenzied *fans that seem to have lead to the demise of many greats both directly and indirectly... If you adore and respect someone please give them the space to be human. Love them enough to let them be.
Started off interesting, lost me part way through with ranting and rambling on. Some other interesting bits near the end. Seemed too much like a vindictive rationalization of her first novel being pulled. Just made me grateful for Google in this day and age.
This was such an odd book. I didn't actually hear the audio, but the book itself certainly brings up some interesting points. Is Elvis alive? Well, I just don't know.
I thought it was very interesting. I believe Elvis gone now but maybe didn't die when we thought. heheStarted off interesting, lost me part way through with ranting and rambling on.
