Short novella with all new characters and a St. Petersburg location. Our heroine Emma Townsend is a best selling author of self help books. She lost her husband to violent crime and can't face going to the home they shared together. When being forced by her assistant Kate to face the music and start packing away her husband Will's things, they stumble upon a love letter written 17 years ago by her best friend. Our hero is that best friend, Christopher Walker. Chris is now a college professor andGreat book!I read this in two nights, and I didn't want to put it down the first night. Love books like this that I don't want to put down. Great story. I love Christopher and I want a guy just like him! I didn't want it to end, wanted to know how the rest of their life went. Great novella! Keep them coming!
I "met" Emma and Chris in Watch Your Back and when I discovered they had their own story, albeit a shorter one, I was on board immediately. Well...Hmmm.Let me start by saying I quite enjoyed it. It was funny when it needed to be, it was intense when it needed to be, it was dramatic when it needed to be, it was suspenseful when it needed to be...It's just that, due to everything that was going on, it appeared even shorter than it was.Let's start with the two, leads, shall we? Seventeen years ago,

3.5 StarsThere is a lot of story in this novella. I like the characters. The suspense is here but for some reason I couldn't get into it like I normally do with a Karen Rose novel. I'll revisit this book again. It is possible that I have too much going on in the real world that kept me from focusing.
True to Karen Rose form, it contains murder, suspense and a healthy dose of romance, despite being such a short story. A nice quick read on a rainy Sunday.
Professor Christopher Walker is in the middle of dealing with what first looks like the accidental death of one of the grad students in his lab when someone from his past reaches out to him. His high school unrequited love, Emma Townsend, wants to see him. She's a psychologist, best selling author and traveling lecturer who just discovered the letter he gave her 17 years ago. Unfortunately, she's now drawn into the danger and mystery surrounding him and his lab. For a novella, this story read
