Sixteen-year-old Donal Walsh came to national attention when he spoke out about suicide in young people in an RTÉ television interview and, later, in an article which appeared in a national newspaper. At the time, Donal was dying of cancer. He wanted others to see that death is never an answer. A few short weeks later, on 12 May 2013, Donal sadly passed away.

Here, in this heart-breaking but ultimately inspirational memoir - written by his father and including Donal's own words - we are given an insight into an extraordinary young man who, in coming to terms with his own death, became determined to open people's eyes to the beauty that surrounds them in life.

We could all learn from him, its rare that I'll do a book in 48 hrs but I couldn't put this down, it may never win a Booker but its a fantastic storyWhy has it taken me so many years to finally read this?

I never read this book before, really. But I will give it five stars. Donal's dad came to my school to talk to us. It was a life changing talk and I swear I had tears in my eyes. Good luck to Donal's family and friends because they must be the strongest people. Donal is such an inspiring idol.

So inspiring to read. Found it hard to read through sad bits. Well done. Amazing message



This is one amazing story. 5 stars. Donal truly is an inspiration to us all. A must read.
