Rendition In Favor Of Books The Determined Virgin
This is a courtship story with a wonderful hero and a sympathetic heroine. To some, that is a beautiful romance. For me, zzzzzzzzzzzz.I know. I'm addicted to drama, angst and OTT situations.
The author did deliver an OTT situation when we learn the heroine's backstory. Not only was she (view spoiler)[ sexually assaulted by her therapist; she was in counselling for being stalked and kidnapped for six days by a mentally ill university student. (hide spoiler)] Oprah's club is missing a book.
Seriously, the structure of this story backfired for me. Because the backstory occurs at the end of the story, the emotional impact of her terrible ordeal lingered with me. Not the hero's sweet courtship nor the heroine's beautiful artwork.
Sorry, author. It's me and not you.

Very angsty story of Rhiannon, an innocent artist who comes to Gabriel Hudson's notice. He is determined to seduce her, but he finds himself acting completely out of character by being sensitive to her traumas as they unfold.I thought this was very well written and I loved the fact that though he did want to seduce her, he realized that Rhiannon had experienced something(s) terrible and decides to go slow. As he came to know her, Gabriel was touched by her humor, her sensitivity and herThis is a courtship story with a wonderful hero and a sympathetic heroine. To some, that is a beautiful romance. Rhiannon is a mosaic artist and gallery owner in Auckland, New Zealand. She meets Gabriel in a parking garage and while they have immediate chemistry, Rhiannon is extremely wary of men. Its clear she has a lot of trauma to overcome. But Gabriel is smitten. He works out quickly that it wont be easy to win her trust, so the plot of the book is his gentle, cautious, but extremely determined pursuit of Rhiannon.Shes interesting and immediately empathetic. Shes battling some big scary demons, but she
Now this IS a love story!! Despite its unfortunate title, the love that the H had for the traumatized h really did shine through. I liked it because the whole book was about his trying to win her love and trust even if she was so wary because of events in her past. Unlike other stories where the whole book is conflict and misunderstanding and they only declare they love each other in the end. In this one you could see how the H tried everything in his power to win the heart of the h.
3 1/2 Stars ~ If not for the heavy box she was carrying, Rhiannon would have taken the stairs back to her car on the 4th floor of the parking garage. She hates elevators, and burrows herself into the corner when an attractive man joins her. He watches her with interest and when the elevator stops he touches her in offer to carry the box causing her to flinch away from him and stumble. Gabriel is shocked by her reaction and horrified when he sees she's injured. While she accepts his help, he's
Meh, just not my style, even if it's a nice story. I prefer betrayals and angst.
Daphne Clair de Jong decided to be a writer when she was eight years old and won her first literary prize for a school essay. Her first short story was published when she was sixteen and she's been writing and publishing ever since. Nowadays she earns her living from writing, something her well-meaning teachers and guidance counsellors warned her she would never achieve in New Zealand. Her shortThis is a courtship story with a wonderful hero and a sympathetic heroine. To some, that is a beautiful romance. For me, zzzzzzzzzzzz.I know. I'm addicted to drama, angst and OTT situations.
