-Read for 2019 YA Reading Challenge-Ok, this one is 'shame on me' for not realizing I started the wrong volume and read this and the last one out of order. FWIW, it had no effect on the overall story being told of Jonathan and Damien as this was a story line of its own. If you're not familiar with Super Sons, it's about Jon Kent (Superboy) and Damian Wayne (Robin) fighting crime together. It's a fun dynamic. On the one hand you have Jon who's a ball of sunshine (if balls of sunshine are allowed to have sarcasm down to an art), and on the other you have Damian who was raised by assassins and takes himself way too seriously. The future Tim Drake from Detective Comics returns to kill Jon Kent before he accidentally explodes and kills thousands of people. Full of fun and excitement, this thing explodes off the page. I like how Tomasi tied in the future Titans of Tomorrow from Geoff Johns's run on Teen Titans. I'm wondering how this future Titans timeline fits in now that the timeline was erased by the New 52. Super Sons remains super freaking fun even with a mini-crossover event. So future Tim drake is back. You know, the one who tried to kill Batwoman. Now that he's back he's not after her anymore, now he wants Superboy! He hunts down Bruce and Clark first, takes them out of commission and then aims his targets on the boy. Now it's up to Damien and the Teen Titans to fight off the future killer Batman before he gets what he wants. Good: The art once again remains very well done. The surprise cameos
I really love Damian and Jon's dynamic. It's like they've taken the extremes of Batman's anger and Superman's positivity and rolled them up into miniature versions of the characters.At the heart of it, this is a story about friendship, although it's not always that obvious. It reminds me of the love Dick Grayson has for Bruce Wayne. Damian and Jon are best buds and that's always going to come first. Even when Damian is a jerk, he does just want to protect Jon which is really sweet.I know Damian
This book was really good. This story is about: Tim Drake from an alternate timeline comes to kill Superboy. He wants to kill Superboy because, in the future, he explodes and kills millions. My pros are: I love the relationship between Superboy and Robin. I also liked the idea of the story. Peter J. Tomasi has another amazing book. Jorge Jimenezs drawing was also really good.
