It reminds me of this author's Pregnancy & Passion series - really thought provoking but not always enjoyable.In general, I found the book to be pretty depressing. Genevieve has been raped and tortured for a year. How can that not be depressing? And all she has to show for it was a clan full of nasty bitches and reprehensible men who call her a whore. So with that setting, how in the world do I get to 3.5 stars?

I guess it would really have been impossible to live up to the first book. And, it didn't. This book is like a potato.
