Witch Fire (Elemental Witches #1)
Mira Hoskins doesn't know she's a natural-born witch who possesses the rare—and powerful—element of air. And she never expects to find herself tied to a mahogany bed frame, captive of a man who aches to fulfill her every desire and let loose the magick that dwells inside her.
Heat emanates from elemental fire witch Jack McAllister. The Coven, a governing authority of witches, has sent him to protect Mira from a band of warlocks who drain witches of power...and life. Long ago, he saw Mira's parents murdered by this same dark magick. He'd like to quell his guilt and offer her everything she deserves. But she's the long-lost cousin of his boss—making seduction off-limits.
With Jack's strong guidance, Mira is luring forth her inner magick. But his sense of duty is quickly swelling into insatiable hunger. He was warned about the natural attraction between air and fire. Now he risks being consumed by the woman he shouldn't want—but can't stay away from.
I just couldn't connect with the characters or the story. In short it was pretty darn boring!!!
It's like this book was broken up into two parts written by two different people. Part 1: Give me sex, sex, and more sex without any sort of emotional relationship to enhance it - which apparently I need in order to enjoy it. Also very little happened in the first half of the book. I almost gave up on the book.Part 2: Wonderful development of the relationship between Jack & Mira. The small handful of sex scenes in the last half of the book were HOT instead of simply lusty because of the
2.5 stars.
29th November 2018: Rating changed to 3.5 stars. Spoilers So heres the thing, this book had a lot of sex scenes which were, I wont lie, quite hot. And I did feel like there was a connection between both Mira and Jack. However, there were things that spoilt the book for me. So Im going to start with the negatives. For example, I felt like it would have been better for Jack to explain to Mira, how even though every Air/Fire type witches (and water and earth witches) have an immediate attraction
This was a fun, sexy, quick read with some refreshingly original details.Mira is a waitress six months out from her messy divorce. Her parents are long dead and she was raised by her godmother, Annie. According to her parents' last wishes, she was raised in ignorance of her true heritage: she is a witch, powerful in the element of air, the rarest of the four elements. Then handsome fire witch Jack McAllister comes crashing into her life, rescuing her from an attempted abduction by warlocks

I'm going all Star Search and giving this book "4 and a quarter stars", because this is my review and I can do what I want.Great little paranormal romance. Short; only 278 pages. And very steamy. With a capital S. But there was also a good story. Simple but interesting world building, just the way I like it. And no one wore leather pants. I highly recommend this book to fans of the genre. I have the next two books of the series safely tucked away in my little book cabinet and will be readingI just couldn't connect with the characters or the story. In short it was pretty darn boring!!!
