Commentary Of Books The Greatest Adventures of Sherlock Homes (Sherlock Holmes)
great stories long book.

The language is perfect. The perpetual fog, the gaslights, the trains and the people of London make perfect place for murders that require Sherlock Holmes. The contrasts between city, suburb and country wherein the local of each story is a character are well drawn. Also, the compilation of this anthology is excellent. Holmes and Watson receive a fine send-off in the end.

It took me seven months to read through this collection, but it's a big collection that includes four complete novels and 44 short stories, plus a wonderful introduction on Doyle and his famous characters Holmes and Watson. Sherlock Holmes stories are a fun read anytime, but bringing together so much material in one volume is in itself a stroke of genius. The reader gets to explore Holmes' remarkable career from beginning to end and discover aspects of his character and methods that might escape

Not sure if the intention was for all 48 stories to be read straight through but doing so offered recognition of some interesting patterns. Recommend taking a drink every time the word 'singular' appears.

What a book! Four novels and 44 short stories, starring the quintessential outside-the-box detective, Sherlock Holmes, and his steady and sturdy companion, Dr. John Watson. This collection offers adventure after adventure, each with its own twists, turns and insights into the human condition. A must, and an extraordinary value, for anyone interested in getting to know the real Sherlock Holmes.

that chemistry though.

I found this volume to be incredibly entertaining, I first picked up interest in Sherlock Holmes and his adventures into the criminal mind on seeing some of the recent films. Hearing that the original books were different, I set out in search of them, finding this; all of the short stories and novels compressed into one enrapturing volume. I was hooked from the first page and had an incredible experience with Sherlock, Watson, Lestrade and so many other wonderful characters that I'm sure I'll
