I loved this book! Someone recommended it to me because it had a similar perspective to The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime. It really portrayed Asperger's really, really well. It showed how the young boy, Jack, was thinking and showed how he stuffs things up. It was sad as well as he struggled with teasing and then how he gets diagnosed and then how he starts to try to understand what Asperger's is and how much trouble he has understanding "normal" people as he calls them.

Tracey Gottliebsen is an Australian writer, accountant and part-time sailor. Tracey writes all about Asperger's Syndrome (Autism Spectrum Disorder). All of her inspiration has come from the wonderful highs and lows experienced by her son with Asperger's Syndrome. Tracey continues to write and work but most of the time she loves to be out on the water...

Disclaimer: I won this book in a first-reads giveawayThis book not only gave me insight into what a kid with Asperger's might be going through, it also made me question why "normal" people do things. The main character reminded me a lot of myself as a kid; I also refused to lie and didn't understand why telling the truth was sometimes considered being rude and lying considered being right. I still struggle with this as an adult.My only complaint about this book was that it ended rather abruptly.

I received this through a giveaway on goodreads. It was interesting to see Aspergers from a different view. I did enjoy how the boy started off wanting to be popular and found something that he excelled at. He then realized that everyone is different and it was ok not to be popular or "normal".
