When I was a teen I bought the whole series and I started reading it. Back then the Italian publisher used to split a single Japanese tankobon into two thin volumes. This means the complete Slam Dunk series was composed of 62 volumes. I quickly lost track on the series and I decided to sell it. SIGH. I'm regretting that decision even now.So, I bought this first volume to see if I was going to like the series or not. The only way to get the Italian edition would be to buy it off Ebay. Why inCurrently I'm reading "SLAM DUNK", the high school basketball story.Caution! This might include some of spoilers!If you've played any sports, the setting could help you to be crazy about it, like me.Each characters have good sense of honor. Particularly, "Hanamichi", the protagonist is best of it, and he seems like three dimensional character.Then, one of the reason why I'm into this manga is each secondary character and even sub character seem like "original" not cliched.There is no antagonist

Even after more than a decade, I haven't found a better sport manga for the art or for keeping thrilling matches (especially THE final match of the manga).I don't know what manga that started it, but it is popular to start a sport manga by telling juvenile delinquent theme for multi volumes before switching into sport theme.
